Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania

The 537th film I have seen in theaters…

During a quantum experiment gone wrong, the Ant-Gang are sucked into the Quantum Realm where they meet the nefarious Kang the Conqueror. As they try to find their way back home, they must stop Kang from escaping the quantum realm and wreaking havoc on the multiverse.

This was okay. Not the worst Marvel film, but far from the best. Joining the returning cast is Kathryn Newton, whom I first saw in “Freaky” the Freaky Friday horror movie. She steps into the role of Cassie Lang and does a decent job with what was given her. As the “Young Avengers” seems to be the way things are heading I was hoping for a bit more for her. Corey Stoll is back, this time as M.O.D.O.K. and I’m here for it.  This was a good take on a ridiculous character. Bill Murray is here for some stunt casting, not much happening there. The real standout however…

Jonathan Majors makes his 2nd appearance (following Loki) as Kang, this time as the Conqueror variant. This guy is a damn good actor, you can’t help but feel gravity whenever he is on screen. The movie does an excellent job of positioning him as the next “Big Bad”. The post credit scenes, particularly the first one, was straight out of the comics. Kang is definitely the best part of the film.

All in all, not a bad movie. 6/10
