The 573rd film I have seen in theaters…
Colt Seavers, Hollywood stunt man, is sent off on a side quest. The leading man, Tom Ryder, has gone missing. Colt needs to find him, fast, or the studio will cancel their movie. Complicating matters is the director of the film: Colt’s old girlfriend.

Ryan Gosling continues to remind us that he is the most consistent leading man in Hollywood. This guy never misses. Ever. He is perfect here as Colt Seavers, the stunt man/fall guy. Emily Blunt is Jody, the former flame/director. Her chemistry with Gosling makes the movie. Supporting them is Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Tom Ryder, the leading man to Gosling’s stunt man. Winston Duke, the great M’Baku, is Colt’s friend, and stunt coordinator Dan. Hannah Waddingham is The Producer of the film. Teresa Palmer and Stephanie Hsu round out the main cast as Iggy, Tom’s co-star, and Alma, Tom’s personal assistant. Hsu in particular stands out here. Fun role.
This was the first great “summer” movie for 2024. Amazing action, great acting, terrific fun. The Comic-Con gag made me chortle. I love that this movie was so heavy on stunt work. You’d think it would be a “no brainer” as the film is about stunt people, but it was a breath of fresh air in this CGI heavy world. Go see this one, it is a fantastic movie.
7/10

A fantastic review. I’m definitely looking forward to watching this film soon. I’m a huge fan of Ryan Gosling who has proven an extraordinary actor. Whether it’s dark dramas, comedies or musicals, Gosling has proven that he can do any genre in the world. I loved his performance as a bumbling detective that solves murders in “The Nice Guys”. Here’s why I adored that movie:
