The 589th film I have seen in theaters…
Spoilers below
Eddie Brock and Venom are on the run following the events of Venom 2. As they go on a road trip from Mexico to NYC, they are pursued by the US government. Alien “symbiote hunters”, working for an evil extra galactic bad guy, travel to earth to find a macguffin called the “codex” which magically appeared inside Venom.

Tom Hardy returns as Eddie Brock. As before, his buddy movie interplay with Venom is the reason to buy a ticket. Juno Temple joins as Dr Payne, a researcher at Area 51 who seeks Symbiotes for science. Chiwetel Ejiofor and Rhys Ifans jump universes to play not Baron Mordo and The Lizard, but Military Commander Strickland and Martin Moon, a hippie Venom meets in their road trip.
I thought this was easily the weakest of the trilogy. The story was… well. It was a story. The effects were ok. As with most of his movies, Tom Hardy is the draw. I’ve enjoyed his portrayal of Eddie Brock, and the more humorous take on Venom. Time to retire the series though. Rhys Ifans was fantastic though. The hippie family subplot was my favorite part of the movie.
5/10
