Godzilla emerges from the ocean to terrorize Tokyo. The government tries to mount a response.

This is one I did not get to see at release, but jumped at the chance for this re-release. Godzilla Minus Zero might be the best Godzilla movie ever made. It was a gripping drama about war, loss, survivor guilt, and perseverance that happened to feature Godzilla. This film is surprisingly similar, but instead of those loftier themes it was focused on bureaucracy and its limitations to deal with disasters. I see shades of Fukushima and the 2011 Earthquake in its themes. While it is difficult to NOT compare it to Minus Zero, I can say this was a solid Godzilla movie. Not the greatest, but far from the worst.
