Found the words. Bowie 1947-2016

It has taken a couple of days, but I have found my way to writing down what could not be written on Monday. It came as a strange realization last night while discussing Bowie with the wife.

I mentioned to her that all of my favorite musicians are now dead.

All of them.

There are many still around that I enjoy, but my pantheon is no more. Bowie, without me even realizing it, was the last to ride to Valhalla. Now only mere mortals and a few scattered demi-gods remain.

and now Bowie.

Of those Demi-gods left behind, only one or two are worth mentioning. Bacharach and Willy Nelson among them.

Sobering.
