1994
The 13th film I have seen in theaters…
The gang from Major League returns in this sequel, which drops any pretense and embraces the funny.
Following their magical season, the Indians return to a new season, with new players. Its basically the first film all over again.
Charlie Sheen returns as Vaughn. He is still “Wild Thing”, but he gets a love interest this season as he goes “corporate” and loses his edge.
Tom Berenger is back as Jake, this time stepping up to manage the team when Coach Lou falls ill.
Corbin Bersen is back as Dorn, now working in management.
Dennis Haysbert returns as Sorano, this time without Jobu…
Takaaki Ishibashi is Tanaka. He has Marbles.
Omar Epps is most certainly not Wesley Snipes.
Bob Eucker is back. All is right with the world.
You may have noted this “Skinny” was skinnier than usual. That’s because this film is terrible. As I said before, it lost all pretense. The problem is that the serious elements of the original are what grounded it in reality. This film gives all of that up and is just plain stupid. However, Tanaka is a bright spot with his “Marbles” dance.
Unforgivable though, is the lack of screen time for Jobu.
