The 92nd Academy Awards are here!
Well, as usual, I did not get to watch anywhere near enough of the nominees to make the best decisions for this. I did knock down quite a few of the major ones though, so take from that what you will.
As in previous years, my picks will be BOLD. If the winner is GREEN, that means I guessed correctly. If it is RED, that means I chose poorly. I average 50% on these things, not expecting much. Here we go!
Best Picture
- “Ford v Ferrari”
- “The Irishman”
- “Jojo Rabbit”
- “Joker”
- “Little Women”
- “Marriage Story”
- “1917”
- “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”
- “Parasite”
The easy money is on 1917 or Parasite for the win, but I can’t shake Jojo Rabbit. I really hope this wins, but my gut tells me 1917.
Lead Actor
- Antonio Banderas “Pain and Glory”
- Leonardo DiCaprio “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”
- Adam Driver “Marriage Story”
- Joaquin Phoenix “Joker”
- Jonathan Pryce “The Two Popes”
No brainer. His performance is inspiring real life revolutionaries.
Lead Actress
- Cynthia Erivo “Harriet”
- Scarlett Johansson “Marriage Story”
- Saoirse Ronan “Little Women”
- Charlize Theron “Bombshell”
- Renee Zellweger “Judy”
I think they play it safe.
Supporting Actor
- Tom Hanks, “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood”
- Anthony Hopkins, “The Two Popes”
- Al Pacino, “The Irishman”

Supporting Actress
- Kathy Bates, “Richard Jewell”

- Todd Phillips, “Joker”
- Sam Mendes, “1917”
